The PC Gaming Ecosystem
What is pc gaming
PC games are digital video games that are executed and played on a personal computer (PC).
Main actors
The PC gaming ecosystem is basicly composed by 4 actors:
Developers, that create and develop games;
Publishers, that market and manage distribution for developers, and often also fund the projects -IDC Games started as a publisher back in 2014-;
Gamers (B2C), users that demand, play and pay for the games, and are the basis for the industry's success;
Distribution platforms or storefronts, that give gamers access to the games so they can play, and manages the necessary payments, like www.idcgames.com.
Starting a few years ago, new secondary actors have emerged and are here to stay:
Video game influencers, that are gamers that have turned into content creators that entertain, inform, and impact on user's gaming decisions;
Esports & Streaming Platforms: esports organizations leverage competitive gaming and streaming platforms connect gamers with global audiences, like Twitch or YoutTube Gaming.
The ecosystem is complete with B2B providers and enablers, like hardware manufacturers, middleware and engines companies, and payment gateways.
